Such words of blessing could be heard from Marieta’s lips.

Marieta lived near the forest. She collected and dried herbs and mushrooms. She used them to make healing infusions, ointments and mysterious mixtures. They said that she talks with forest spirits and plants, and animals come to her by themselves.They said about her with respect and gratitude. She was the witch, the one who knows. She knew the whole village and its surroundings. People liked to come to her for advice. She always listened to everyone and served mysterious herbs that as people said ” they show more”.

One day Caroline came to Marieta. She sat down at the table. “Marieta, I don’t understand what I mean, I have too many thoughts, nothing makes me happy. I don’t feel joy and no sense, ”she blurted out the words hiding her teary face in her hands. Marieta walked over to her, put her hand on her shoulder, and set a mug of hot thyme tea in front of her. She didn’t say anything. She waited for Caroline to start telling her story further. She, as if by magic, told what has been happening to her lately. Marieta listened to her all the time with her eyes closed, holding her han all the time. She could see the colors of her thoughts as they rolled into her head. She sought in her heart a remedy for her concerns. When Caroline finished her story, she got up and went to the old cupboard. She pulled out a brown sachet with patterns and a mysterious object – a long patterned tube. Caroline watched with a bit of interest, a bit of concern. She didn’t ask for anything, she trusted Marieta that, as always, she would help with her worries and give her herbs that would help her see and feel more. She sat down across from her and, holding her hand, spoke gently to her:“Caroline, you are very deep in your mind. Stubborn thoughts obscure what is in your heart. They obscure joy and peace, like storm clouds hide the sun. I have something for you that can bring relief and clarity of feeling and thoughts. ” Caroline, curious, but without fear, listened to Marieta’s story about a mixture of tobacco and other sacred plants that she poured out onto her hand.She listened carefully to how it would be served to her. She felt a little bit excited, but calmer now. She closed her eyes and thought about the intention. Marieta spoke the words of blessing and breathed something in her nose with the gentleness and love of the plants. The fine plant dust was like a letter from the soul. An information that Caroline has been waiting for so long. That’s how she felt it. At first it wasn’t pleasant and tears flowed from her eyes, but then she immersed herself in a deep feeling. Cluttered thoughts parted like a thick curtain. Caroline saw with her inner eye what she couldn’t see before.She was in the here and now feeling. She felt … that she was there.
