STORY OF KIRON’S DRUM

Rodryk was brought up by his Grandma, after his parents disappeared without a trace. She always told him: “Be thankful, boy, for everything. Be thankful and you will be rich”. When he was a child, he only laughed happily at her, not understanding a word. Later, when he grew up, he only nodded his head indulgently telling, “yes, yes, granny, yes, yes,” and he stroked her gray curls.
When he was old enough to go out into the world, he rushed to say goodbye to Grandma. She wrapped her fragile arms around him and squeezed him. But he felt a gentle force in that embrace. He was ashamed of this feeling in himself, because he wanted to remember the Grandma as a weak woman in a colorful scarf draped over her shoulders. “Live in the truth and be grateful and you will be rich”, she said to him. Rodryk felt a familiar feeling in his body.

– “What that granny again…. I know how to live, earn money, have friends, conquer the world, have what I want”, he thought. He pushed gently the grandmother away from him, wanting to leave. “I’ll be”, he said shortly. “Take it, sonny. This belonged to your Grandfather Kiron. You never met him. He was a shaman, he lived in the mountains. For me, he moved to the valleys “. Grandma began the story.
“He fried the best pancakes in the whole village, collected herbs, honey, laughed a lot and listened to people. He was honest. He gave them Presence and Mindfulness, and wrote Gratitude as a prescription. We never ran out of money. We lived modestly, it is true, but truly, honestly and in joy. And this is his drum. He played it when he felt that his strength and power were leaving him or when he felt uncomfortable. When he played, birds, foxes, badgers, but also dragonflies, butterflies and one magnificent deer appeared around him. The Deer was his Power Animal that gave him the power and support. The drum called the animals and all the qualities they carried with them. They gave them later to Grandfather. , Thanks to such support, he was able to help others and himself. Grandfather was sincerely grateful for this abundance. One day, while drumming in a trance, he turned into a Deer, his power animal. He was still beautiful, majestic, focused all the time on the pulsating beat of the drum. There was peace, gratitude and bliss on his face. Birds chirped to the beats of the drum, and the butterflies and nearby reeds hummed softly. Kiron played and played. As the night fell, he disappeared, leaving only this drum behind. There’s enchanted the power of the Deer in this drum: dignity, masculinity, peace, action, but also tenderness, joy, but most of all, gratitude. Take it with you into the world and whenever you feel weak and powerless, play it. Grandpa Kiron’s power will be with you. Be in the Truth and be thankful and you will be rich”, the grandmother concluded. Rodryk hugged her and took the drum in his hands. He felt its texture under his fingers. He gently drummed them on it. A deep hollow sound came from the drum. He took the truncheon in his hand and tapped timidly. The drum spoke to him for the first time. Rodryk began to play it bolder and bolder, and the drum began to tell his life song about abundance in gratitude.

As he played in a trance, he felt that all the qualities enchanted in the drum of the Deer, as well as his grandfather, were transferred to him. He felt strengthened and supported. Support from the Ancestors. He felt supported by his absent father, who was also filled with the power flowing from the deer drum. For the first time he felt responsible for himself and that his Truth coming straight from the Heart would give him abundance. He immersed himself in a blissful sense of gratitude. He felt ready for a journey into the depths of life.
